Every year, we plant many traditional heirloom vegetables such as Pink Brandywine, Mortgage Lifter and Abe Lincoln tomatoes. Peppers like the Corbachi are also thrown into the mix due to their vibrant color and great flavor. Some heirloom varieties are highly sought after and those get planted as well.

In order to mix things up a bit, we regularly purchase new and unique seeds too. In early 2026, we picked up the varieties listed below. Some were planted and some left to be planted next year. We are a small operation and shelf space in the greenhouses does get limited.

We've had some recent visitors here at Austin Springs Acre.
Little toads have arrived and when we find them, they are relocated into the greenhouses. Inside they find a plethora of small insects to keep the little ones happy.
Did you know that Eastern Box Turtles can climb fences? This one keeps getting into the garden and eats strawberries.
Lastly, we had some toads and frogs lay eggs in our small fish pond. Tadpoles galore with some already losing their tails.
